Meet the
PUBLISHER
I always had these grandiose ideas of leaving my mark on the world through literary genius.

In true angst brigade fashion, I donned my best black, drank copious amounts of caffeine, often letting a Marlboro 27 dangle from my lip as I typed away at a dangerously fast speed that probably mirrored my heart rate thanks to the Red Bull and espresso. I had all these ideas and words that made sense in my head, but not so much when it made it to the page.
I decided that maybe I just needed a little guidance. So while my friends were applying to college to study things like engineering and business—you know, majors where you actually have a chance of finding a job after graduation—I looked into schools with the best Creative Writing programs.

When someone asks you where you went to school and your answer happens to be on the list of the top ten in the country, their eyes widen and they almost seem to falter in the presence of your greatness ... until they ask what you studied. Apparently, your alma mater doesn't hold much stock when you announce you majored in something about as useful as basket weaving.
But that didn't matter to me at the time. I was going to change the world, man. I was doing it for the art, not the money. But so were my peers. That's when I learned I'm not really a writer. Sure, I did the course work and graduated summa cum laude, but my true strength was found in the editing process.

During my education, I fell in love with a man named Maxwell Perkins ... and not just because we share a name. I loved everything about his work ethic and envied the relationship he had with his authors. Known as the first "authors' editor," he gave close and detailed attention to each manuscript and often acted as a coach, friend, and promoter. His personal approach and editing style inspired me to follow in his footsteps.

After receiving my BFA, I went on to receive my MA in Publishing and Writing. Thus began my career where I had the honor of working as an authors' editor for fifteen years, helping writers hit USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Amazon, and New York Times bestseller lists.

While working with so many talented people, something Maxwell Perkins had said never left the back of my mind: "A publisher's first allegiance is to talent. And if we aren't going to publish a talent like this, it is a very serious thing."

As a publisher, my goal is to deliver the very best talent to the world while keeping my list small and my circle tight to ensure each project gets the attention it deserves.

Since founding Gilded Press in 2022, I've had the privilege of publishing exceptional authors whose talents have propelled them to incredible heights. Our books have climbed bestseller lists, earned a spot in Audible's Top 20 Best of the Year, and even attracted the attention of Hollywood.

By supplying a few red marks of my own, I'm profoundly thankful to help my authors leave their indelible marks on the world.
